Up to 3 weeks of ballet training focusing on building a strong foundation and technique for dancers ages 8 to 12

Our junior training program for serious dancers ages 8 to 12 years that will focus on developing strong, consistent classical technique, which is crucial for successful progress in ballet and other dance styles.

Registration is 30 minutes prior to audition time.
Auditions by appointment or video will be accepted until all spaces are filled.

Admission to our summer program is by audition only. The audition will take place at our Irvine location.

Dancers should audition in the age group based on their age on June 20, 2016.

Audition Fee & Requirements

The class audition fee is $25 payable by cash only (exact change is preferred). Dancers should bring a full-body photo in first arabesque position wearing practice clothes and no skirts.

Note that local students who cannot attend our February 14th audition class may make arrangements with us to audition on another date; the audition fee for alternative audition dates is $35 for a 1.5 hour class.

Class Curriculum & Schedule

Our curriculum will consist of
Ballet technique, pre-pointe, pointe, repertoire, female and male variations, men’s technique, conditioning, Horton technique, partnering, dance history, and workshops in stage makeup, nutrition and injury prevention

Classes will take place Monday through Friday. There are no make-up classes for classes missed during this Summer Intensive. If you must cancel for any reason, you must submit this in writing. A partial refund may be given on a case by case basis, basis for students who withdraw due to severe illness or injury that is documented by a physician.

Dancers must be at least age 8 by July 3, 2017 to attend. A limited number of scholarships will be available.

Schedule of Audition Notices & Deposits

Applicants will be notified of audition results within one week of their audition. Students who are accepted will receive instructions for securing their place in our summer program.

  • February 2017: Enrollment packets will be sent by email.
  • March 2017: $200 nonrefundable deposit for regular tuition; or full payment due to qualify for Early Bird Discount
  • April 2017: All enrollment forms and full tuition and fees are due.
  • Attend 2 Sessions and receive a $100 discount on the second session!

Our summer program tuition is as follows:

Deposit & Payment Deadlines (for Non-Early Bird Applicants)

Space in our intensive programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and invited dancers must confirm their acceptance and secure their space by completing and returning their application forms along with the required non-refundable deposit of $200.00 by March 2017. The remaining tuition balance is due by April 2017. We recommend early enrollment, as spaces are not guaranteed once the program has reached capacity.

Scholarships Available

A limited number of partial and full tuition scholarships are available for select students.

Scholarship applicants are reviewed by the directors of the Maple Conservatory on the basis of demonstrated financial need and technical/artistic proficiency and merit.
