Our five-week senior program is for male & female intermediate and advanced-level dancers who want to receive a high-caliber of dance training in a small-class environment.

Our program will offer a rigorous training program for serious dancers that will focus on developing strong, consistent classical technique, which is crucial for successful progress in ballet and other dance styles.

Participation in the Senior Ballet Intensive requires a commitment of at least two weeks.

Registration is 30 minutes prior to audition time.
Auditions by appointment or video will be accepted until all spaces are filled.

Supervised Housing Available

Admission to our summer program is by audition only. The audition will take place at our Irvine location.

Dancers should audition in the age group based on their age on June 30, 2020.

Audition Fee & Requirements

The class audition fee is $25 payable by cash only (exact change is preferred). Dancers should bring a full-body photo in first arabesque position wearing practice clothes and no skirts.

Note that local students who cannot attend our February 10th audition class may make arrangements with us to audition on another date; the audition fee for alternative audition dates is $35 for a 1.5 hour class and $50 for a 1.5 hour class (plus evaluation for pointe).

Class Curriculum & Schedule

Our curriculum will consist of
Ballet technique, pre-pointe, pointe, repertoire, female and male variations, men’s technique, conditioning, Horton technique, partnering, dance history, and workshops in stage makeup, nutrition and injury prevention

Classes will take place Monday through Friday. There are no make up classes for classes missed during this Summer Intensive. If you must cancel for any reason, you must submit this in writing. A partial refund may be given on a case by case basis, basis for students who withdraw due to severe illness or injury that is documented by a physician.

Limited supervised housing is available for dancers ages 13 & older.

Dancers must be at least age 11 and en pointe by June 30, 2020 to attend. A limited number of scholarships will be available.

Schedule of Audition Notices & Deposits

Applicants will be notified of audition results within one week of their audition. Students who are accepted will receive instructions for securing their place in our summer program.

  • February 2020: Enrollment packets will be sent by email.
  • March 1, 2020: Deposit (50% of tuition) due.
  • April 1, 2020: All enrollment forms and full tuition and fees are due.

Space in our intensive programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and invited dancers must confirm their acceptance and secure their space by completing and returning their application forms along with the required deposit OR full payment by the stated deadlines.

Scholarships Available

A limited number of partial and full tuition scholarships are available for select students.

Scholarship applicants are reviewed by the directors of the Maple Conservatory on the basis of demonstrated financial need and technical/artistic proficiency and merit.
