4-Week Intensive Program

« Back to Summer Programs main page

Program Dates: June 30-July 26, 2008

Sorry, this program is full.

The Maple Conservatory's 4-Week Intensive Program is for male & female dancers ages 12-22 years old who want to receive a high caliber of dance training.

Students must be ages 12-22 during the summer program. Female students must be en pointe for at least one year prior to the start of our program.

Program Description

The focus of our 4-week intensive program is on improving the classical components of a dancer’s training. These components include the practical application of the principals of alignment, line, placement, the building of strength, and the importance of freedom of movement and musical expressivity.

Limited class sizes enable a close working relationship between the student and the teacher. All of our instructors have the unique knowledge of dance developed from their accomplished professional dance careers. While our world-class summer faculty challenges the students to achieve their full potential in classical ballet technique, they are also expert in training dancers to embody the athletic attack and grace inherent in contemporary movement styles.

At the conclusion of the program, each student will be given a one-on-one evaluation with a faculty member that will not only enhance the dancers’ summer experience but will also provide them with a well-rounded dance education that they can continue to use in their future artistic development.

Summer Program Faculty

Our 4-week program faculty will feature faculty members director Charles Maple and SI Program director Chris Martin, as well as the following internationally renowned faculty:
