In 2003, Andrew began his professional training with the international hip-hop dance organization, Culture Shock Los Angeles. With deep training in the fundamental hip-hop styles, he then glided his way to UC Irvine’s prestigious hip-hop dance team, Kaba Modern, for the next 4-years. During his tenure, Andrew trained, performed, competed with Kaba Modern placing at competitions such as Bustagroove, Vibe Dance Competition and Fusion Dance Competition. Most notably in 2007, he and several members of the team represented Kaba Modern at the Hip-Hop International Dance Competition ranking #1 in the U.S. Championships & represented the United States placing 2nd at the World Hip-Hop Championships. In 2008, he was featured with several members of Kaba Modern on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew season 1. He then continued to direct Kaba Modern with Allison Vicencio (KM Legacy) and Geo Lee (KM Legacy/Instant Noodles).
Since then, Andrew has trained, performed and choreographed with Kaba Modern Legacy. He coached and choreographed Tustin High School’s All-Male Dance Team placing at competitions from CADTD, USA Nationals, Sharp Dance Competition and Miss Dance and Drill Team USA. He had the honor of dancing with KC & the Sunshine Band during the 2013 New Year’s Parade. For 7 years, Andrew has been a resident hip-hop dance instructor at Jimmie DeFore Dance Center teaching adults at all levels ranging from beginner to advanced.
Currently, Andrew works full-time as a senior digital marketer. During the weeknights, Andrew teaches hip-hop dance for kids and adults. He believes that anyone and everyone can dance. It is his passion to get people moving and grooving to the rhythm of life.
