Sophia Thomas received her early training in Fresno, California under Carla Stallings-Lippert. She went to study under Charles Maple at the Maple Conservatory of Dance in Irvine, California. She spent summers studying with Houston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boca Ballet Theatre, and American Repertory Ballet. In 2015, she was invited to be a trainee with American Repertory Ballet and then later became a part of ARB II. While with ARB, she performed in productions such as Swan Lake, Kirk Peterson’s Carmen, and Douglas Martins’ A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Pride and Prejudice. In 2018, Sophia joined Ballet Tucson. She has also been a Guest Artist with Thomas Armour Youth Ballet in Miami, Florida and performed roles such as Swanhilda in Coppelia and variations in Raymonda. Other notable performances are George Balanchine’s, La Source and David Parson’s, The Envelope.
