Thank You For Making Coppelia, A Timeless Romantic Comedy A Huge Success!

Thank you everyone for helping us make our full-length ballet, Coppelia, A Timeless Romantic Comedy, a huge success in the community! Hundreds of you came this past Saturday & Sunday and sold out large sections of the theatre to watch the Maple Youth Ballet's debut of this wonderful production!

We had ticket patrons from as far away as San Ramon, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria, Hemet, Temecula, Oceanside and Riverside, as well as throughout Orange County and LA County, including: Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Granada Hills, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Long Beach, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, San Clemente, Tustin, Westminster, Whittier and Yorba Linda.

Be intrigued by a doll who comes to life — or does she?

Enter the fanciful world of Coppelia, ballet's timeless tale of obsession and true love tested by an eccentric toymaker, Dr. Coppelius. But things may not be what they seem when quarreling lovebirds encounter the clever creations of the mysterious Dr. Coppelius whose greatest desire is to create a doll with a soul.

Featuring original choreography by Artistic Director Charles Maple, Coppelia is Maple Youth Ballet's full-length, romantic comedy ballet that transports audience members to a 19th century fairytale village, featuring sumptuous sets and opulent costumes by award-winning designer Jenny Tomich.

This whimsical storybook ballet is a perfect family fare that all ages will enjoy. Watch as this unique Orange County experience unfolds, showcasing exceptional & talented dancers from across the Southland!

Performances will feature an appearance by Charles Maple reprising his role of
Dr. Coppelius, which he first performed in Europe during his professional career!

Running Time: About 90 minutes long with intermission

Refreshments, coffee and snacks will be available before the performance and during intermission. Special edition, Coppelia-themed pointe shoes & other gift items will also be on sale, along with a fantastic array of silient auction gift baskets!

Coppelia Ballet Workshop For Young Audiences
Pili Doheny, Assist. Director, Maple Conservatory's Pre-Ballet Program

Children ages 4-8 are invited to free, fun-filled, on-stage ballet workshop led by Pili Doheny. This 20-minute workshop will immediately follow each performance in which Ms. Doheny will lead the children through ballet stretches and teach a dance from our Coppelia production! Dancers from our Coppelia performance will also be there in costume to sign autographs and pose for photos with the children.
