From the moment the lights dim, you will be transported to a magical place filled with dancing snowflakes, a dashing prince, and Tchaikovsky's majestic score based on one of the world's most beloved ballets.

Share the tradition of fantasy as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Nutcracker Prince and Clara ignite the imagination of your princes and princesses of all ages. Watch as this unique Orange County experience unfolds, showcasing more than 80 exceptionally talented & classically trained dancers from across the Southland!

Featuring original choreography by Artistic Director Charles Maple, The Maple Youth Ballet's The Nutcracker is a contemporary full-length rendition-with-a-twist of E.T.A. Hoffman’s time-honored classic which centers around Clara, a young girl who yearns to one day become a professional ballerina.

Running Time: About two hours with intermission; light refreshments & snacks will be on sale during intermission along with our spectacular Nutcracker boutique!

Special Guest Artist: Brian Waldrep, ABT II

Brian Waldrep, a member of American Ballet Theatre's acclaimed ABT II, will perform in the Maple Youth Ballet's The Nutcracker. ABT II is a classical company of young dancers who show outstanding potential and are hand-picked from around the world by the ABT artistic staff.

On-Stage Dance Workshop For Young Audiences (Sat. & Sun. 2pm only)
Pili Doheny, Asst. Director, Maple Conservatory's Pre-Ballet Program
Ruth Ziegler, Maple Conservatory Ballet Faculty Member

Children ages 4-8 are invited to free, fun-filled dance workshop led by Pili Doheny and Ruth Ziegler. This 20-minute workshop will be held following our Saturday & Sunday 2pm performances. Ms. Doheny and Ms. Ziegler will lead the children through some ballet stretches and teach a children's dance from our Nutcracker production! Dancers from our Nutcracker performance will also be there in costume to sign autographs and pose for photos with the children.

Special Family Rate On Monday Night: Tickets for Monday's performance are at a reduced rate of $22|$18|$16 for adults and $16|$12|$10 for children & seniors.

Become a Maple Youth Ballet Patron:  Purchase our "Friends of MYB" Patron tickets for our Saturday & Sunday 7pm performances for $50 per person and get the best seats in the house in the Center Main section, rows D-G. Proceeds will help underwrite our Nutcracker production.

Ticket Availability Update:
Online sales for all performances have reached capacity. A limited number of tickets for these performances will be on sale at the theatre beginning 1 hour before each performance. Center Main for all performances, Left/Right Main for Sun. 2pm & Mon. 7pm, and Patron seats for Sat. 7pm are all sold out. Excellent seats remain for Sun. at 7pm.

Other Ways To Purchase Tickets

• By Phone:  Tickets orders by phone are no longer available. You may purchase tickets online or at the theatre's box office on the day of the performance (open 1 hour prior to the performance start time).

Our Ticket Policy

• All tickets purchased online or by phone, fax or mail will be held under the purchaser's name for pick up at the Maple Conservatory of Dance at 1824 Kaiser Avenue in Irvine beginning two days after the purchase date, and up to one hour before the performance at the theatre's Will Call window. Purchased tickets may be claimed with a valid photo ID or with a copy of the email receipt.
• There are no refunds or exchanges on ticket purchases. All sales are final.
• The Maple Youth Ballet will re-issue lost tickets for the same performance at no charge. Tickets may not be redeemed for a missed performance.
• A $25 processing fee will be charged for all returned checks.
